Hello to all our new friends across the country.
The tour has been great so far... Blackpool is weird in winter - desolate doesn't quite do it justice - but the crowd was great and we met some old friends and made lots of new ones. The gig itself was a blinder. Cheers to Martin, Fiona and Scotty. And new pals Keith and Rich's sing-a-long-a-Metallica later was a real sight to behold. Keith earlier revealed that his favourite song of all time is 'Remember You're A Womble', and gave five very good reasons why.
We met Scott Metzger, who is playing guitar with Ginger on this stint, who is a thoroughly bloody nice bloke. And hellfire can he play guitar. Ginger's set was a blast, I got roped into doing percussion with a guy called Darren (I think - hello Darren!) who was brilliant. Much fun had by all.
Saturday our drummer Wayne Insane got married - Congratulations to you and Mrs Insane! Cue much rug-cutting and bitter drinking.
Sunday was Glasgow - Davros who is doing these dates with me couldn't get this week off work so couldn't make this gig, which was a shame, but thanks to the Glasgow lot for more fun than you could shake two sticks at... three, maybe. Fuck it, a whole tree. Wonderful night. Got roped into playing guitar with Ginger and Scott tonight... which was 1000% fun too. Looks like that's gonna stay a permanent fixture for the rest of the tour. Thanks to Ali for the help with the merch and looking just like my friend Jane. See you mental Scots in May!
Monday (last night) was Sheffield. Now, I'm going to be honest here, I always find Sheffield a bit weird to play. I'm never sure that people are having a good time. Tonight was no exception, but after we sell a shedload of merch and get loads of lovely comments. And a girl wants pictures of herself providing the filling in a Davros/Chris sandwich. We (obviously) oblige. Tyla turns up and provides a suitably rock n'roll set. Hanoi Rocks turn up later but a little too late for the mooted Ginger/Hanoi/Tyla collaboration... another day maybe... Ginger's set goes great, a packed Corporation know every word of every song, my mate Dave Baird in particular. We're using the floor as a drum kit, and when it sounds amazing, it sounds REALLY amazing. Cheers to all at the Corporation for a top night, and Howie for helping on the merch.
Anyway time to go to Manchester. This has been way more dull than I'd hoped. Sorry.
Chris.

is it wrong i'm proud to be mentioned as the "girl wants pictures of herself providing the filling in a Davros/Chris sandwich"
Not in the slightest. I think "badge of honour" are the words you're looking for...
reasons why remember ur a womble is the best tune ever are in no particular order
1 its pop but it rocks
2 can do an irish jig in the middle
3 my mentor/dj irish living legend mick used to be great unkle orinoko
4 u can sing it in a variety of styles, pistols punk being my fave
wombles are 10x better than moomins
5 it has a chorus the size of an african nation
